35BU Range | 35,000 Volts | 800 Amp | High Voltage Half Coupler

Exclusive to KonNx, the 35kV aluminium high voltage coupler is the only coupler in the world capable of withstanding 35,000 volts.

Developed in a staggering 15 weeks, the 35BU was released in 2013 after being approached by a client unable to find a product suitable on the market to meet their needs. Currently installed in four opencast mines across Africa, the 35BU has also been installed in high altitude mines in South America without issue. The results of type tests performed on this coupler prove that its high quality design is as good as the cable, with common applications including supply of power from overhead lines to mobile transformers, as well as supplying power to dredges.

The 35BU features a guide pin that will become enclosed in the body casting of the coupler when the system is closed, protecting it from external damage. Proper installation, maintenance, and ongoing support for the 35BU can be provided by sister company KableX Africa.
