Ex124BSSRF Range | 12,000 Volts | 400 Amp | Flameproof Couplers

Designed for use in the South African market, this 6-bolt 12kV stainless steel half coupler has recently been redesigned to include a new feature aimed at reducing downtime.

Flameproof certified (SANS 1489), as of 2024 the Ex124BSS, which held an excellent track record in African underground coal mines, has been upgraded to the Ex124BSSRF. The RF stands for Removable Flange, a new feature for this half coupler aimed at removing the guesswork from flamepath maintenance and reducing downtime. Should flamepath damage occur, simply remove and replace the flange. This maintenance can be done on-site, even underground. The Removable Flange can also be ordered separately at a fraction of the cost of replacing an entire coupler and kept on hand, further assisting in the reduction of downtime and maintenance costs.

Suitable for use in underground mining, tunnelling and commercial applications, including Group 1 hazardous environments, the Ex126BSSRF can also be used in opencast and metalliferous sites if a higher level of durability is required. Maintaining its original rugged and compact design, our LED Live Line indicator has also been redesigned to be flush with the coupler for easier cleaning and maintenance.
